Saying that he has composed two operettas, one for his father's birthday, one for his mother's, that Dr. [Johann Ludwig] Casper had translated both texts from the French, reporting on his studies--Latin, mathematics, history, arithmetic, geography, etc.--, as well as violin lessons--"I am playing Etudes by Kreutzer--," etc.
